FALL 2021 - Sad to see Hadley General Store close. (August 2021) NOVEMBER 2022 UPDATE!

Hadley General Store hosted my photography for several years. Upon learning they were closing a few days back,  I came to pick up my two pieces... only to be surpprised by the owner who  presented me with cash  for the sale of one of the photos! The photo - "Little Red," was of a young wild horse taken in New Mexico a few years back during a photo workshop I was enrolled into. Thank-you whoever bought it!

UPDATE!October 2022:  The Store has reopened as the Rockwell Falls General Store and is serving  breakfast. lunch. and dinner!

Summer 2021 -

Busy. Busy. Busy!

I am pleased to report that  I have been busier than ever with exhibitions and sales. It is a joy to have photography be my hobby. Check my updated events schedule please and come visit!

I will also be assisting Dr. Roger Wyatt with future editing of his film "Life On the Run."  Yup. It's true. We are cranking the machine up again! Stay tuned.

I am greeting visitors on Sundays (12-3 pm) at the historic Rockwell - Harmon Cottage at 37 Main Street, Lake Luzerne, and inviting people to take a look at the Rockwell Harmon Cottage and everything else on exciting Main Street! If you visit, I will take your photo on the beautuiful back porch! I am also hosting a "pop- up" photography show to coincide with Lake Luzernes  "National Day of the Cowboy" July 24-25 events in town. I'll have my stunning images of legendary  Navajo Code Talkers,  Tombstone Cowboys, and a certain ADK personality on display... so stop by the Cottage. Refreshments will be served.

Signed up with Warren County to participate in my first painting class ever with teacher Patricia Jarvis Webber on July 21. We are painting Georgia O'Keeffes "Lake George." Cannot wait!

I'll have 14 images on display all summer long  (July and August 2021) at SPOT COFFEE - 55 Railroad Place, Saratoga. Even have Ernie Williams on display! May he RIP.

Altamont Fair is On! I will have 4 images in competion and on display August 17-22, 2021 in the Fairs Fine Arts Barn.

I also signed up for a film class through Schoharie River Center in Burtonsville. The class will be learning film techniques from start to finished product.

I once again will be a volunteer photographer at the Sartagoa Automobile Museums Fall Car Auction. Cars to lust after for sure.

Lastly... I will have a photo exhibit up at the Saratoga Springs Visitors Center through the month of September, 2021.  297 Broadway, Saratoga.

Time to Thrive during COVID.

Due to inspirational emotions, I have entered more art shows than ever before. And BONUS!!! Because of COVID, shows are digital!!!  No lugging around work. No Framing. No glass. EASY PEASY. And, my work has been showcased, sold, and shared with media!  I have been encouraged and inspired during these trying  times.

ART HEALS.

First Artist: Sue Clark – Fine Arts photographer and first guest artist for ENACTION Art Show.

Lola Alvarez Bravo – (Mexican, 1907-1993)

Sue Clark’s fine art photography submission:  “Ruben of Mexico”

Lola Alvarez Bravo is recognized as Mexico’s first successful female fine arts photographer. Ms. Bravo was well-known for her candid portrayals of Mexican subjects. The intention of her photography was to reveal the deeper meaning of the culture of Mexico. Her career arc included being named head of the photography department at Mexico’s National Institute for Fine Arts, which was a trailblazing position for a woman at that time. She had many art friends, including Paul Strand, Diego Rivera and  Frida Kahlo. In fact, in 1953, Lola’s Mexico City gallery sponsored Frida Kahlo’s first and only solo exhibition in Mexico in Frida’s lifetime. Ms. Bravo’s archive was bequeathed to the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona in 1994 upon her death. Her images hang in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Art, Houston, and the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
