Summer 2017

JULY 16, 2017.

I was truly honored to be chosen by the Director and Board of In Our Own Voices, after they decided I would be given The Friend of the Family Award,  for outstanding contributions to families. I was not expecting that call, much less an award from the Governor, and also State Senator Breslin. IOOV  hosted a red carpet event at Albany's State Street Events by Mazzone, for the ceremony. Family came too. What a beautiful Day! For their big fundraiser, many art pieces were auctioned off. I donated a few fine art prints,  with family and guests snapping them up. Thanks Barb Art and Joe! One was of Senator Tedisco, Dr. Tom Smith and Sal Famularo, our beloved WWII Iwo Jima Survivors. Senator Tedisco is a big fan of  our Iwo Jima vets, and will be presented with a Suzette! portrait of his two favorite WWII veterans  (Thanks Joe!) this Thursday, August 10, 2017.  I hear the press is going to be there!  A big event indeed!

SUMMER 2016. So Excited!!!! Why?

1) Dr. Daniel Way included Dr. Tom Smith and Sal Famularo, in his upcoming  photography book "And We Were There," about the patientshne met in his medical practice, who served in WWII. The veterans were generous with relating their true experiences in war, and beyond. That, combined with Dr. Dans powerful photography, makes this the last of his trilogy of patient / story / photography ADK books, a trenendous story.  Dr. Dan still does housecalls in the Adirodacks and is a true story collector.  In the end , he asked me to photograph him,and has credited me in his book! He didnt have to, but he did.  I thank him from the bottom of my heart for including Dr. Tom, and Sal and myself, in this, the last of his trilogy stories about his wonderful time in his Adirondack medical service and   journey with his patients.

2) - Stony Creek Free Library is hosting my "Picturing Johnny Thorpe"  photography exhibit this summer. I will have en eclectic grouping on exhibit  that arises from memories of JT.  Please come to the artist reception! We have CANCELLED the Saturday, June 25 date,  and will be announcing a NEW ARTIST RECEPTION DATE for sometime in July. Stay tuned. In the meantime, for the reception - Bring a plate of ? to share , and / or a beverage. A lot of us have not had the chance to get together and share memories about our beloved friend, who passed October 2016.  Dot at the Inn wants the library reception group to move on to her Stony Creek Inn to continue the evening. We are thinking of having an open mic night, if possible, at the Inn, for people to share memories and stories of our friend. "Picturing Johnny Thorpe" show ends August 8, 2016.

3) Brookside Museum art show "HORSES!" Myself, Sharon Crute and Sharon Castro are among the   featured artisits at the Brookside Museum, in Ballston Spa,  this summer. Show opening is July 1. Artist reception is Friday, July 29th, 2016  from 6-8 PM. Please come! Cowboy poet Mark Munzert will be entertaining.

4) I completed a Lightroom Photography workshop in May, 2016, broadening my skills in photo editing. My generous love supported me in completing this workshop. I am grateful always for his support, and all you that follow my career. Truly grateful. You have surprised me, and touched my heart  each time you have shown up to me shows. Really.

5) My first  advertisment was printed in a Saratoga Magazine.  We bartered services.

6) I will be a Charlton Artist, displaying photography in The Little Red Schoolhouse in Charlton Sunday June 5, 2016, from 11-4 PM, during Founders Day Weekend. Please stop in.  Green Market will be happening that day too!!!

7) We  continue to film the Life On the Run movie. We were in Saratoga last month filming Dion Flynn of SNL! He also is the faux Obama on the Jimmy Fallone Show. Ya never know what Dr. Roger will be coming up with next!!! We had a blast!

Oh My Goodness! Sue Clark's photography is featured on the Internet Group "Cowboy Poetry- Pics and Poems!"

Cowboy poet Mark Munzert runs the Internet group "Cowboy Poetry." He uses a single photo and asks  the group to contribute poems about  the subject in the photo. That is so cool!  He is a fine poet, singer, and entertainer all around, performing at sone of the TOP- cowboy poet events across the USA. The photo he chose out of my photo collection of Western Images is a micro of the tops of horses heads, zeroing in on their ears. I am honoroed to be part of this group, and once again thank cowboy poet Mark Munzert for the opportunity to air some of my Western Image photography collection.

PIC & POEM. This weeks Pic for PIC & POEM comes from lens artist Sue Clark. See more of Sue's pics at3w.suephotography.com

Thanks to Scott T. Baxter for inspiring yet another great round of poetry with his HANDS & HONDA photograph. Go on over to his Facebook page or3w.scottbaxterphotography.com and get yourself some of his great works.
Thanks to all of CP's Cowboy Poets for sharing!

PIC & POEM. Using our current cover photo as inspiration, interject your thoughts, interpretation, perception…poetically of course and post it here at the CP. Have at it!
